My poem "Idle Thoughts While Watching a Faun," after elisem's earrings of the same name, has been accepted by Strange Horizons.

I think Mervyn Peake totally gave Dr. Prunesquallor his hair.

It may be just the tonal values in this picture, but thinking of Mervyn Peake as looking curiously reminiscent of Phil Lynott is disorienting.

. . . I had to look up Phil Lynott. That tells you something about the tonal values of my brain.

Apologies. My father knew Lynott vaguely, and something in the back of my brain has persistently misfiled him as "about as well known as Freddie Mercury" despite every attempt to correct it. (Knowledge of their joint "Queen Lizzy Tour" does not help.)
