And for New Year's, Eric took me and Anita and Eddy to the Boston Pops with Amanda Palmer. There turned out to be dinner involved. And Bizet and Brecht. And a tippy moocow. And a cover of Lady Gaga (with feminist, post-structuralist critique). And a short film with Bill Nighy. I said hi to Neil Gaiman for an editor I know. I consider it highly unlikely that this will be the template for next year, but I grant it a surprisingly auspicious start.

When wakanomori told me that Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman were an item--which was news to me, though all the rest of the world apparently already knew it--I just laughed and laughed--it's like all my recent cultural references have to somehow connect, sort of like a giant rock-paper-scissors game. Of Course those two would be going out.
