They shifted the statues for harboring ghosts

And for New Year's, Eric took me and Anita and Eddy to the Boston Pops with Amanda Palmer. There turned out to be dinner involved. And Bizet and Brecht. And a tippy moocow. And a cover of Lady Gaga (with feminist, post-structuralist critique). And a short film with Bill Nighy. I said hi to Neil Gaiman for an editor I know. I consider it highly unlikely that this will be the template for next year, but I grant it a surprisingly auspicious start.

Happy—and better—2010, all.

When [livejournal.com profile] wakanomori told me that Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman were an item--which was news to me, though all the rest of the world apparently already knew it--I just laughed and laughed--it's like all my recent cultural references have to somehow connect, sort of like a giant rock-paper-scissors game. Of Course those two would be going out.

Sounds like a wonderful evening! Happy 2010.
