Swing and return to shift the sun anew

It rained here all day, no chance of sun. There are no stars to see fading in and out of this shortest night. The seasons are not our sight. The planets don't hit or fail our marks: leap fires or oversleep, it's summer all the same. And all the same, happy solstice, all.

Sometimes nature feels so removed, working on its own without a care for us. There's comfort in that sometimes, the constancy, the feeling of being part of a whole we can't begin to understand, so yes, leap fires or oversleep. Other times, I like to lean against a tree and feel that it doesn't mind at all.
