I was trying to find a way of stopping the clock
My poem "Fjöturlundr (Saturnian)" has been accepted by
ericmarin for the April issue of Lone Star Stories. It is mostly about the days of the week; also, Ragnarök. Probably I cannot blame
fleurdelis28 for all of that.
Speaking of time, I suspect I should have mentioned before today that I will be attending this year's ICFA; I will be in Orlando from the 17th to the 22nd, and I have no idea what my online presence will be like. Last year indicates nonexistent, but maybe I will at least get some writing done. Anyone else going to be there? That I don't already know about?
I really hope someone has set the suitably anonymous Mr. Anderson's "Mummering at Christmas" to music, because I discovered it while looking for Simani's "Any Mummers Allowed In?" and it's awesome.
I photographed swans today.

I'm not driving, but flying: I don't see how. I'm so sorry.
. . . This is unrelated, but weirding me out. What image do you see for my icon? Instead of Psholtii from The Cuckoo, I am seeing a bit of painted city that looks sort of eighteenth-century; which is fascinating, but not at all what I want or uploaded two years ago. Is this a hack? Messed-up code? A temporal hallucination?

So it's my computer. Terrific. It had better go away soon . . .
Also: congratulations! It's a fine fine poem.
Thank you!

(I, unfortunately, am seeing the 18th-cent painting)

Gyah. What causes this? Why can it not be fixed by Livejournal?

I wish I could figure out a way (or better yet, I wish Livejournal could figure out a way) to prevent this from happening.

I cannot tell if I have solved the problem, of course, because all I know is what I see on my screen. I deleted and re-uploaded the image; tell me what you see?

I wish I knew what was the deal.

So it's not my computer. Great. And the icon I would traditionally place here to signify my displeasure currently looks like a city.

Zut. Well, you've my sympathy.

That's an awesome poem, and I'm glad it's appreciated properly.

Thank you!

You're welcome!
PS
I'd have to think so. Looking at it, I'm almost given to think it was meant as a song in the first place. With a bit of reflection, I suspect I could probably find an air to put it to, myself.

The way it's rhymed and written, it would be a waste if it weren't. Maybe it's somewhere in the Newfoundland folk tradition; I just couldn't find much attestation for it online.

For certain and for sure.

I've a couple of books of Newfoundland songs. I'll have a look through them. I've a friend up there as well--I might ask her, an I think about it, although she's busy lately, between writing sf/f pron and having a baby on the way.

Thank you! He's posted the acquisition, so you can tell him so!
(And then send him a poem for the third in April . . .)

He did give me encouragement on one poem recently--the one I called "Temptation"--but so far, as with Goblin Fruit, I still haven't made a poem that's quite right for him. Practice makes perfect, though :-)

And stories. What about "The Stars' Chill Song"?

Well, send it to Lone Star Stories!
