Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld
I had intended to title this "A Perfect Day for Contributor's Copies," but as I have no interest in shooting myself in the head at the end of this entry, I think I'll stick with something far less clever.
Not One of Us #33, which features my story "Little Fix of Friction" and poem "Psyche," is now available. "Little Fix of Friction" took its title and initial inspiration from Jill Tracy's "Make It Burn" (Quintessentially Unreal) and the lowered eyelids of a classmate of mine, and grew from there. The incense frog originally belonged to my grandmother. Blake's nightmare is partially one of my own. The story was written almost entirely to Division of Laura Lee's Das Not Compute, Peter Gabriel's Melt, and My Favorite's The Happiest Days of Our Lives. "Psyche" has mostly to do with souls, as one might surmise from the title, and a folktale I read in elementary school: though that had a moth, not a butterfly. David Kopaska-Merkel, editor of Dreams and Nightmares, reports that NOU #33 is "very brooding and depressing. If you like that kind of thing this is definitely the magazine for you." I'm not sure that's a wholly accurate assessment of this particular issue, but I still hope it's a recomendation for at least some of you.
And on a mostly different note, Star*Line 28.2 is also out. Although this is primarily an issue of humorous poetry, it also contains my poem "Lunacy," about which![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
