Thirty diamonds, birds of fire, sparkle like the summer sky
My poem "The Firework-Makers" is now online at Lone Star Stories, along with fabulous pieces by
seajules,
papersky, and
zhai.
I also got back my first three rolls of film, so expect photographs (if not yet from graduation) soon. To my surprise, I like how most of them came out!
Expect also at least some thoughts about Leslie Howard's Pimpernel Smith (1941)—if nothing else, why is it not available from Criterion?

Absolutely. Various bits of family are visiting right now, but they should go up tonight.

With the exception of yesterday, wherein the weather changed and I felt like my head had been through a microwave, this has been a week's worth of good days now. I could get used to this.

I have no idea what Criterion are thinking sometimes. I can easily come up with one hundred movies I'd rather have seen them release than, say, Armageddon...

Armageddon?!
Oh, dear.

Though I must say, "gag" was my reaction to that movie.
