Jenny prays to gods she's never heard of for a special warning

If you are one of those strange folk who have not yet picked up a subscription to [livejournal.com profile] greygirlbeast's Sirenia Digest, please do so. In addition to her "Rappaccini's Dragon," whose title alone I love, this month's issue will include "The Mirror of Venus," which is my first sketch of the alternate history with Etruscan personal names and the Venetian thalassocracy. I expect more to follow.*

As [livejournal.com profile] erzebet has mentioned, my poem "Postscripts from the Red Sea" will be published by Papaveria Press as a handbound, limited edition before the end of this year. I am looking forward to this exceedingly.

Spending much of today with [livejournal.com profile] wind05 at the Museum of Fine Arts, looking at portraits by El Greco (and various roomfuls of classical art)? Definitely worth the travel time. Although not so much the disturbing fruit.

* I never used to write sequels, or anything resembling them. Now not only do I have an entire other world that proliferates every time I look sideways at it, there is a character briefly mentioned in "The Salt House" for whom I will need to research World War I. Maybe this is how my brain compensates for the lack of regular academic input?

Congratulations on "Postscripts from the Red Sea." I'm sure that will be beautifully done. Please update us when it comes out!

And you've piqued my curiosity (again) about this Venetian thalassocracy. My work schedule is keeping me from keeping up with your writing! That's not a good thing. Hope to read more soon...

There goes all the other things I was planning on doing, I'll be hatching my inbox until it arrives.
