Now you can lay me down and love me

I am returned from the ICFA. It was one of the more splendid weeks of my recent life. The reading went well; the singing went well; the talking with people, yes, truly. Details to follow when my brain has slept. I am very glad that I don't have anything else con-like from now until Readercon, but I would not have traded all the travel.

You were splendid. I am so very very happy that you and [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks and [livejournal.com profile] negothick were there to rejoice with me. Sleep well.

[livejournal.com profile] sovay's poetry reading was just marvellous. Patricia McKillip and her husband, the poet and translator David Lunde, were there and thought she was amazing. As did we all. There was a rush to the book room afterwards, by those who had just discovered her.

Awesome! I can think of few people as deserving, and no one moreso.

Congratulations--it sounds like it was great! I wish I could have heard you sing.

Excellent news.

Congratulations!

I'm glad you're back safe and had such a good time.

Note to self: manage to accrue enough money to attend such events, one of these days. Sounds like you had a smashing good time!

(Hi - I'm here by way of [livejournal.com profile] rymenhild, who recently recommended you to me as a fellow poet and potential source of discussion/etc. She commented on a post I made that discusses the issue of those of us who get published left and right on the speculative scene, but consistently seem to get rejected by more mainstream poetry magazines. Not that I'm automatically assuming this is your case, as I don't yet know you/your work terribly well!)
