Got the muse in my head and she's universal

Since the meme seems to have wound down, here are the answers that no one guessed:

1) Psholtii to Veikko, The Cuckoo.

3) Dr. Walter Kornbluth to Allen Bauer, Splash.

5) Lee Holloway to her former fiancé, Peter, Secretary.

6) Jof to Mia, The Seventh Seal (Jag sa förbanne mig inte ett ord om änglar).

12) Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald to Molly, Fitzcarraldo.

All of these films I recommend you see.

There are very, very occasional moments at which I wonder if I should learn how to vid. One of these occurred when I realized that no one seemed to have set any scenes from The Prestige to Kate Bush's "Houdini" (Through the glass, I'd watch you breathe / Bound and drowned and paler than you've ever been). Another resurfaces periodically with my conviction that I cannot be the only person who thinks the Dresden Dolls' "My Alcoholic Friends" would make an excellent theme song for Sydney Carton (Should I choose a noble occupation? / If I did, I'd only show up late and sick / And they would stare at me with hatred / Plus, my only natural talent's wasted). And last night it struck me that I have at least half a dozen songs on my computer that would go nicely with the Flying Dutchman portions of Pirates of the Caribbean. In short, it's probably just as well that I haven't learned.

That way lies madness for the silent film fan. I sat here and thought, in the space of less than a minute, of a dozen song/movie pairings that would probably require at least a month to do justice. Who's got that kind of time?

(Though I now desperately need to see someone set pieces of Vampyr to "Bela Lugosi's Dead".)

I was certain The Seventh Seal was in there somewhere.

Vidding is the path to madness. I think. Still, I like the way you imagine what they would look like.

And that is good news indeed.

but it would be such fun if you did!

I occasionally suffer fits of yearning to do specific projects, but have never set out to learn the skills. I remember coming back from seeing LOTR: The Return of the King and spending days thinking of neat ways to pair shots from Jackson's LOTR to the Tori Amos song 1000 Oceans. ah well.

oh gracious, it's been awhile. in demonstrating, I am taking up a lot of space / getting very involved, so I shall write a post and link you to it when it is up. :)

I understand the want to vid. I find myself hearing a snippet of song and thinking of a show or character. I suppose its also because I tend to see the same songs done over and over, and I want to see a greater diversity of songs used in vidding.

As someone who loves to read your stories and poems, I'll be happy that you devote your free time to writing instead.

No. It is a brilliant, brilliant song.
(Though to my disgrace, I had to look up Sydney Carton.)
