When we take on new bodies, I will scour the earth to find you again

It was cold enough in the intermittent late sun that I should have worn gloves, but I walked out and photographed the flowering things of my neighborhood.

Hestia is not allowed out among the flowering things of the neighborhood, but she has discovered that she can turn the speakers of my sound system into a headrest.

The Bradford pears blossom like jewelry.

I rejoiced to see a bumblebee on the wing.

The star magnolia seemed to be practicing its cephalopod.

I really hope someone called this errant splice box in.

The contrast of telephone pole and forsythia suggested a coral snake.

Closer to, they become their own worlds.

On just about every block, the rhododendrons make such beautiful swag.

It was a delight to run into Elana Lev Friedland on North Street. We talked cosmic horror and capitalism until my hands stiffened up. I dove for the bag of bagels as soon as I got home and made myself one with cream cheese and lox, the latter eagerly shared by Hestia. She has taken to leaping onto the top of the washing machine at the slightest rustle that might suggest deli meats. I fell asleep in the evening, but [personal profile] spatch cooked me scrambled eggs and afterward [personal profile] rushthatspeaks and I talked over our days. I am fascinated by the blue-based earthtongue.

Ahhhh thanks for sharing this heavily-saturated-proof-of-spring.

We've got some draggly magnolias and a couple petals on the forsythia canes. The trees have a green haze. Any day now we'll turn the heat off.
