I have been made the unexpected recipient of an unbirthday scarf. It is patterned as if with fossil leaves and irresistibly striped.

It's a pastel shoal of rainbow fish painted on purple silk. I don't think it's ever been photographed except in 2019 when I was wearing it as a cravat.

Ohh that one is so nice too! I'll try to remember to take pictures of mine when it's scarf season again and I can wear them... soon, I hope! (I also have one with an elephant pattern, and an iridescent-ish paisley one,and a light blue one with sequins...)

That's the type of scarf that makes me wish I wore scarves more than I do. I have a few that are quite nice, but most of my scarves are meant to keep my neck and ears warm in cold weather and that's it. (Mind you, I like scarves far more than I like hats for the purposes of staying warm.)

I like both scarves and hats! I recognize when phrased that way it sounds like a philosophy. I have one default scarf for warmth that I have worn every winter since high school.
