We took the bones out from the road

I have done nothing of note with my day except sleep twelve hours, have hot-smoked salmon for breakfast, take a walk around the neighborhood, snack on a whole lot of Japanese gummies of jaw-perplexing texture, be shown the first episode of Schmigadoon! (2021–23) which reminds me intensely and approvingly of Forbidden Broadway, and yell about a book with [personal profile] selkie, so I am definitely experiencing a vacation. I drew from a Tarot deck I had not touched in over twenty years and came out with its Justice, Athene weaver of stratagems. I had goat's milk before bed.

1. Yay vacation!
2. YAY SCHMIGADOON! I am your one-stop Schmigadoon! chatter shop, although if you know John Chu and want to add him to the chat that's fine too.

SCHMIGADOON!!! If it's of any interest, I wrote up the recent stage musical adaptation and how it compared to the TV show. ([personal profile] sovay: contains spoilers)

I will now be fascinated to know which season and/or which parts of season resonate most with you. I firmly believe there should be an internet quiz that tells you about yourself based on your favorite Schmigadoon! songs. S1 had some brilliant moments I truly appreciated, but my heart belongs to S2, in the Hair/Godspell/Jesus Christ Superstar references that utterly shaped me as a child. There is a particular bit of kick-leap choreography that made me groan, "Oh my gawwwwd" and raise my hand like an athlete taking a penalty, yes, that's me you're so adroitly skewering on the screen there, I admit it.

It’s well known that part of the cure for What the Jesus Christing Heck!? is banana bread.

I’m looking forward to A New Way with Cinnamon Glop! Feel free to pick one to cut in your late-night peregrinations.

I drew from a Tarot deck I had not touched in over twenty years and came out with its Justice, Athene weaver of stratagems.

Glad you're enjoying your vacation.

Might I inquire as to which deck this might be?

The Goddess Tarot by Kris Waldherr, probably acquired 1996, last handled by the [personal profile] sovay in question 2002 at the latest, when I left the Eleven card in their possession as I knew I wouldn’t see them at least three years.

Thanks for this. As I mentioned below, I've found an old one and will poke and play with it a bit shortly.

It's been throwing majors for [personal profile] sovay and swords for me all weekend. My usual suit is cups (which has also come up about as often as ever). I'm about to pick up a Marseilles or whatever cheapie and send this back with them for a freakin' rest cure. It's usually fairly slant and has taken, with the times, to punching repeatedly above the neck.
...It's possible I've said if we ever sat in their mother's house and threw a Jacob's Ladder, I'd be liable for replacing the roof.

Oh, you're right! [personal profile] batdina, sorry, this is the correct assessment. Nothing works in di shviger's house. It's just set that way. She has promised me it is not the house, but a transitive thing -- I think transitive it's the right word -- it's the person, not the place. May it be true another hundred and twenty years.

I found an old one. I haven't used a "new" deck in years, but what the hell, right?

Thanks to you both for the info.
