I'm sorry it wasn't out a week earlier; it would have done a brisk trade at Readercon.
You know, this may be the first time in my life that I'm annoyed a con is over. I wanted to spend so much more time with that concentration of people. Definitely the hotel—wherever on earth it is—next year.
(And I knew you'd find that soundtrack instantly.)
Once you've eaten fairy fruit, you'll never rest easy again.
That will please Eric. Lud-in-the-Mist was one of the myriad books that surfaced (and was then not unreasonably raved about) in last night's conversation.
It didn't happen the last two times I attended Readercon. I suspect the first time around I was getting my bearings and last summer I was too sick to do much of anything other than write "The Wedding in Hell." But I am still a little amazed. I will have to see what World Fantasy is like.
I'm sorry I missed all this. Sounds like another evening of con.
World Fantasy (in my experience) gives swell awards, but the programming isn't nearly as good. A lot of serious editorial stuff goes on. It may of course be quite different for others. And it's within reach this year, only in Saratoga.
