Got where I am doing a favor

Everyone remember that time I got involved for three years with local politics on a platform of replacing then-Governor Charlie Baker with an artichoke if the artichoke had a functioning sense of ethics?

He should have been planted like an onion instead.

...and the down blanket and the mittens with handwarmers already stuck in them and the bleacher cushion and the toque. *hugs*

Most of hockey you don't have to watch -- I mean, you can, people do -- but if you're the goalie parent you end up glued to their end of the sheet and get a crick in the damn neck and feel real feelings about the quality of their defensive teammates. And watch them do stupid nonsense between the pipes when they're bored because people are at the other end. (All goalies do this, even at pro level. Some of the nonsense is to keep their zen and some of it is because there are no neurotypical goalies.)

there are no neurotypical goalies

A thing I have suspect every time I read anything about Jacques Plante.

OMG, he was so deeply touched by his gods. But he redefined the position and he invented the Goalie Adventure of which the kiddo is so fond! Before him, goalies didn't stick-handle the puck or pop out of the crease! They just hung out! And Goalie Adventures now are standard practice to one degree or another and can lead to Goalie Goals.

From what I’ve read there was also an Incident where Plante protested that the nets in some arenas were *slightly* off the standard size, and eventually someone checked and confirmed a manufacturer’s defect.
