3. Somewhere I have been: Shutesbury. Sligo. Sessa Aurunca. I thought I had been to Sidney on account of the air museum, but it seems to be actually in North Saanich and I am trying to figure out how we got there from Seattle.

I was in an air museum in BC about twenty-five years ago. Asked point-blank without looking at either maps or websites, I would have said it was the British Columbia Aviation Museum. Second-guessing myself with maps and websites, the one at Langley doesn't look right and it was definitely not the Comox Air Force Museum. If there were smaller aerodromes with vintage aircraft that could have been day-tripped to, the internet is not readily helpful in finding them. What I have no memory of is how long it took us to get there from Seattle or by what routes. It would be ideal if I had taken photos and could ransack my parents' house for them, but I have no confidence that I did. Can keep you posted.

Yes, they would have been. You would have had (and still have) three ways to get to Vancouver Island directly from the states. You could have taken the Clipper (walk-on only) directly from Seattle. You could have taken the Coho (car or walk-on) from Port Angeles. Or you could, had you for some reason been in the San Juan Islands, taken a ferry almost right to your destination.
Alternatively, you could have driven across the border and then taken a ferry from Vancouver to Sidney, but that seems perverse unless it was your loop home on a longer trip.
I don't think I've ever been to the aviation museum here (though I have been to the one in Seattle). The airport and Sidney are more or less contiguous, but I guess it could be that the airport counts as North Saanich instead.

The same trip almost certainly included Vancouver. All bets are off.
(A member of my family had a job in the Seattle area for a handful of years starting at the turn of the millennium. I believe I only flew out once to visit, but it was my first time in Seattle, my first time in Vancouver, and the only time I have ever met George Dyson, who was lovely and did in fact tell me facts about the baidarka. Characteristically I can remember books, conversations, late-night sushi, and not most of how these points were geographically achieved. I am fairly confident about the cross-country flight.)

The museum's website says North Saanich and I have no idea if that is locally a reasonable or a silly distinction.
