Here's the landscape that we always loved the best

It snowed beautifully overnight and is still snowing in thin unbroken spirals, tufting the yew branches and the crime-scene silhouettes of cars in the street. The roads have been cleared, but before then I saw a rabbit running the shadow of its own footprints under the streetlight. Hestia's bird theater sits huddling and fluffing in the hearts of bushes. My parents have been married for fifty years.

Yay for snow!

The frost here was heavy enough it filled in the gaps where the snow had melted, with that distinctive crunch as you left your mark on your way through it.

ETA: and congratulations to your parents on that milestone!

Meanwhile I hope you are warm when not out in the winter.

To be honest it's not been too bad outside, I haven't bothered zipping my jacket most of the week, though I only have to go four doors between my mother's house and my sister's house, where I'm staying. I've had much more of a problem with overheating in my mother's house than freezing. The weather's supposed to significantly warm up tomorrow, so we'll likely be saying goodbye to the last of the snow.
