I had a successful and informative medical procedure which was overall reassuring while not actually solving the mystery of the last month of ill health and before I pitch over onto the couch, here is the piece of wood in the driveway which looked like a fossil when we left the house this morning.

There aren't even trees over the driveway. There haven't been trees on the site of the driveway for some considerable time. There is construction on the other side of the driveway, but it's not exactly working in raw wood. I was delighted.
