You are the welcoming back from the ocean
Jeff VanderMeer has a new online home: Ecstatic Days. Go; housewarm; send him squid. He is made of awesome.
My brother's godparents, a microbotanist and an engineering geologist, are in town from Arizona on their way to Iceland; on the theory that while in New England, only a fool passes up the chance to order clam chowder, they took us out to dinner at Legal Sea Foods. Inside two of the mussels in my cup of Portuguese fisherman's stew, I found three tiny pearls. One is mussel-dark, one is nacreous, one is mixed; all are a little smaller than BB shot. I am keeping them.
There has been rain and thunder all since last night.

He is in Classics; I don't know him very well, but I could probably identify him at a department party. How do you know him?

Are your brother's godparents towards Iceland for work, or only for pleasure? Sounds grand, in any event.

Small worlds. In both directions.
