We talk in tongues sometimes, twist in time
Encountered in the course of this afternoon's walk: eggplant, bees, and roses.

Being a nice neighbor, I admired rather than planned to heist this eggplant.

These bees looked peculiarly heraldic.

The hibiscus are elegantly folding up for the season.

The beyond last rose of summer is looking great.

Meanwhile, this rose hip was doing its best pumpkin.
On the one hand the amount of stomping and shouting coming down through the ceiling from the second-floor party is sub-optimal, but on the other hand they are stomping and shouting to Chappell Roan, so it could be a lot worse.
P.S. I have just discovered that my novelette "The Dybbuk in Love" (2005) was reviewed in Black Gate for Rosh Hashanah! I am delighted that it is still haunting people.

That's such a good image. If I see any bees around it, I'll try to photograph them for you. (I do not know if they are as interested in rose hips as in roses.)

Are your neighbors trying to bring the ceiling down again?

Enthusiastically and semi-rhythmically. Listening to them has been the majority of my evening, although there was a good interlude of talking to

Your soulful rendition of "Pink Pony Club" would have been on pitch and beat, too!
It was good to talk to you! I have scheduled 11 emails for tomorrow morning at 8 am.
Are they all to the same rabbi?

Those late flowers are very beautiful. I hope the stomping and shouting didn't go on too long—the last thing you deserve is more noise!

Fair enough! I find them delicious.

Thank you! It went much later than ideal for me (and noisier than I could work, write, or watch a movie through), but the rest of the night was actively nice.
