The nights fall like thorns off the roses

The honeycakes are baking. I have watered all the flowers for my mother including the braided hibiscus which my father got her this spring without realizing that at our latitude it would have to come inside for the winter. [personal profile] moon_custafer sent me a photoset for The Cruel Sea (1953) in which Denholm Elliott thanks to an excellently accidental camera angle seems to be guest-starring from an afterlife fantasy. Today has been grey and odd, but yesterday there was brilliant autumn through maple leaves.

It’s important to bake the honey cakes.
*hugs*

The sky was very otherworldly all yesterday. The light and the maple leaves in your photo are a perfect announcement of fall.

Will your parents indeed bring the hibiscus in for the winter?
