Dig a moat around my life, that'll fix it
The plumbers came this morning and replaced the joint which they had replaced nearly two weeks ago which had since cracked and dripped through our bathroom ceiling once again. Here's hoping the third time is not the charm.
Also this morning I saw my first Cybertruck in the wild. It was sincerely impressive: exactly as appalling as the internet had led me to believe. It looked unreal not in the sense of futuristic cool but half-materialized eldritch incursion.
In the afternoon I managed to nap for three or four hours, which is approaching my normal ration lately and is not sufficient to sustain intelligence. It is especially frustrating since last night I finally watched at home on my own a movie which I loved.
Also last night I was so surprised to find myself still asked in this year of our trash fire 2024 for my origins based on my accent, I forgot to ask the man who stopped me after overhearing me at the pharmacy counter what he was expecting instead of the evident disappointment that I was born in Boston of American parents and had indeed heard before that I didn't sound like it.
Only thanks to a recent half-off sale was the curry powder of tonight's dinner affordable, but it is so neat to me that saffron has not depreciated since the days of Minoan frescoes.
Six monarchs in chrysalis are metamorphosing in my mother's house.

We have one living near us, apparently. We've seen it several times, and every time we do we think, There goes someone who makes poor life choices. Did you know there's a kid's picture book in support of the cybertruck? Awww. 🙄
(Why the hell did the last plumbing joint crack?? Hello? Where are they getting their plants? A fifth-grade pottery class?)
Yes, never mind gold, people should invest in saffron.
I'm glad for your nap and hope you get to refill your sleep vault a little more soon.

I haven't seen a cybertruck yet, I think. We do have a few Rivian and F150 trucks around and things being as they are, I assume that most of them are part of a home generator system when parked, because the power goes out too often.
The ferry crews hold special drills centered around a Tesla or other vehicle (let's be honest, most likely a Tesla) going up on deck. It will be uncontrollable and it will melt right through the hull, reportedly...

The thing is that it could have been, strictly speaking, not new plumbing, but we just don't know. The plumbers were not forthcoming. We are keeping an eye on the replacement's replacement.

I don't think you could see one and miss it. Everything else on the road looks like a car.

It is a lot of lithium.

It's so weird. I would be fascinated to know what someone from an era before CGI would make of it, except it feels truly cruel to inflict on anyone who isn't obliged by misfortunes of history to share a street with it.

I had no idea. It immediately suggests to me an entire population of very dubious small children watching a parent's midlife crisis manifest with wheels on.

(We have no idea. It was PVC. It shouldn't have cracked unless it was weather-stressed or left lying around in the sun and we were told nothing of its origins. We are eyeing its replacement with some paranoia. Also our ceiling is still sheetrock.)

I love the idea of this economy.
