This weekend has been much less reasonable on the sleep front than the nights which pleasantly preceded it, so I appreciate that during the hours I was actually unconscious last night, my brain thought I should be watching Wendell Corey in some nonexistent early TV while being flirted with by the woman on the small coastal island with the ancestral, inheritable timeslip, into which strangers could be pulled by sufficiently close affiliation with inhabitants, of course, otherwise it'd have been no fun at all.

(I had gone to sleep reading the published screenplay for The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), which spatch owns in a collection of Best Film Plays of 1943–44, so if anything I would have expected Harry Morgan.)
