The currents are recurrent events
I did not meet President Biden on his visit to Boston. I did encounter the traffic occasioned by his presence, which did nothing to alleviate the travel of the two doctor's appointments for which I got up on a near all-nighter except when I could walk home from one of them. I fell over on the couch afterward. I fell asleep for a couple of hours, which was even better. This headache which I am on the third day of has worn out its welcome. Hestia displayed her own signature version of the baby seal.

She is an elegant cat! (We believe she knows it, which is healthy.)

Having woken up with mid-ribcage pains today myself...
Hi, Hestia!

I hope they have departed by now.

She is being conspicuously affectionate of late, which we are returning in kind.

But I could poke tumblr for more content, which it did not exactly have, but someone had more screencaps of the dance sequence (which I now know is mostly Jeremy Northam dancing very awkwardly for most of it): https://www.tumblr.com/notjustamaninahat/180899780687/harry-chappys-date-in-happy-texas-1999-i?source=share
And poking their tags (linked person is the JN central person on tumblr), produced this quote from Robert Altman from the Gosford Park commentary, which I think you'll appreciate, because, yes: https://www.tumblr.com/notjustamaninahat/99499208160/i-think-this-performance-by-jeremy-northam-is-one?source=share

Life goals! (Thank you for coming back to let me know.)

I'm so glad Robert Altman felt that way about him. I feel even more justified in remembering him for decades.

It's a perfectly justified response to seeing him in it! You're far from the only one. I was struck by him particularly in two films rather than one that year, but I still took great pleasure in them for 20 years before I went looking for the rest of his resume. And he's a very good actor indeed, is what I can safely conclude at this point.
He's pretty nice about Altman back as well: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2012/feb/19/this-much-know-jeremy-northam?newsfeed=true
(Courtesy of me disappearing down the above tumblr's quotes by/about JN tags after I posted this last night. I didn't do that before, because I'd seen far less of his TV/films at that point.
I shall have even more problems than before if he keeps up being like that *points up* and, worse, *like this*: https://www.tumblr.com/notjustamaninahat/152524427881/surely-the-job-of-fiction-is-to-actually-tell-the
(I'm v amused that the other quotes concerning Enigma are basically that everybody is sure he's cribbing off a different 1940s leading man for Wigram, lol. He says not, it wouldn't be wise, acting styles have changed too much.)
Anyway, I've been finding him kind of hard to pin down in my mind in ways that seemed right, but that helped (I think the director who pointed out that he's a leading man who's also a character actor was spot on; I get the impression he might in some ways have been happier being just a character actor) ditto with whatever happened with him in the later 2000s. But apparently he found working in both the UK and the US too much strain/exhaustion & also seems to have prevented him having the kind of personal life he'd have liked, so he pulled back and since only does what he really wants to do, or maybe needs to do. Which is sad for the rest of us, but obv sensible for him. (He turns down work; when I got into his stuff last year, his tiny tumblr fanbase was beginning to get concerned because he hadn't done anything for nearly four years, including actively turning things down, but then he just popped up in a film that he apparently did want to do, and they could relax.)

48-hour headaches are still bad and I hope you don't have one!
(Thank you.)
