You'll know this was life and time

I categorically refuse to do the research required to write it, but [personal profile] spatch agrees with me that a fossilized forest discovered near a holiday camp is a Sapphire & Steel/Hi-de-Hi! crossover waiting to happen.

The Beeb had some pics of the forest and it is truly amazing!

I'd read it! Though keeping that slowly building of creepiness that S+S requires might be a touch tricky...

Good morning campers! Strange echoes of a long dead forest over the tannoy at Maplins? More likely than it seems!

XD

That is amazing, and not so far from where I grew up! (I have a petrified forest under me now; apparently there was a fossilised one on the shores nearby me when I was small. These forests get around... I wonder if there's one near Aberystwyth to complete the set?)

Trees before trees. Why is a very ancient sign so productive of joy? But it is. Now I will blissfully imagine Somerset covered in low twiggy fern umbrellas, transforming the landscape as they grew.

The happy holidaying campers had no idea that the shuffleboard could shuffle them...

This is so cool. Forests everywhere--even in solid rock.
