Come on and ride this river in me
Our street is surging with water like a stream. The sidewalks are part of the flood. Hestia is safe and warm under the sunlamp, her tail curled temple-cat around her desk.

I like the meditative harbor lights and the salt-spectral forecast of OisÃn Leech's "Maritime Radio" (2024).

(Is that a mermaid at the foot of the lamp? Very cool!)

A most elegant kitten. We tell her so.

It is! There are actually mermaids on both sides of the base: their paint is a little chipped now since my father restored them in 2013, but one has red hair, the other gold, and their tails are peacock-green. They look like old-fashioned tattoo mermaids and I love them. The fishing-float-green glass jar that sockets in between them has a sand dollar on its cork top.

I'll take pictures with a better camera. [edit] Done.

It's very gracious of Hestia to share her desk with you.

They did! It looked dramatic, though.

She kindly condescends. (She is on the desk as we speak.)
