Nobody sang it for me like I want to sing it for you all the time

[personal profile] spatch and I have been married for ten years. Our decade's anniversary gift looks like tin, which I pictured first as the triple-eared wheel of tinners' rabbits, then as Phoenician trade. Time has not been right for ages, but what else is there to do? We signed our ketubah. We exchanged rings. We are still here.

Congrats--ten years is no slouch!

I discovered a few years ago, while randomly looking up tin for some other reason, that it's apparently somewhat common for people to buy their spouse a small ingot of tin as a 10th anniversary gift. Cute as a gag, I suppose, but I much prefer the idea of a tin vessel (but then, I'm always about vessels of any kind, due to what they represent, particularly as it pertains to love).

Happy anniversary, and I hope it's a good one. <3

Happy anniversary! (Pewter is 94% tin.)

presented me with the ceremonial gesture of a pie tin covered in aluminum foil

Adorable--and also a pie tin counts as a vessel, so even better. ;)

Thank you! It was!

Glad to hear it!
