This afternoon while Autolycus had his check-up, I discovered that the old factory siding of the former H.P. Hood Plant has dramatically overgrown, to the point that I could not see the rails through the chain-link and the ragweed.

I am glad you have them! Our local bikeway was also built out of derelict rights of way when I was in middle and high school.
Based on what I read here, you're thoughtful and eloquent and operating at the speed of 14th century life. Same speed as myself.

I think I can gear up decently into the early nineteenth century. Would have said it was at least a century later until the last decade, though.

Every decade pushes me back another century. I've now graduated to the typical indignities of age, like arthritic fingers and inability to remember anything without writing it down. (Here's to a warm companion animal in one's lap — my girl doesn't mind my cold gingers in her hot armpits.)
