We all got lost in the uncanny valley

En route this afternoon to a family occasion in Maine, spatch and rushthatspeaks and I took half an hour to find some sea and ended up at the Nubble Light. I love Edward Hopper's New England paintings, I just didn't realize they were naturally occurring.

There just doesn't seem to be any weathering on the buildings at all.

It's very well kept up! It's automated, but still has its original Fresnel lens. I have just been stricken to discover that the Cape Elizabeth Light of my childhood no longer does.
