And the shadow I throw strobing against the wall
The day began with contractors, who arrived only a little later than their usual aaagh o'clock in order to attend to our heating system, which had nothing to do with the window having fallen out; they are slated to repeat the performance tomorrow. I spent the afternoon on the phone sorting out a draconian insurance hassle and the evening at my parents' house sorting through fragile possessions.
Thanks to the recent half-price Criterion sale,
spatch and I exchanged DVDs of The Girl Can't Help It (1956) and Black Narcissus (1947) and he surprised me with the Kino Blu-Ray of Times Square (1980), which he had just seen on film and I had not. I have a new-to-me shirt which may summon dust bowls if worn incautiously.
I wish this entire week had not been such a locus of exhaustion.

Here's hoping for a restful weekend, when it arrives.

Hee. It belongs to my parents' neighbors! Its treasures are unknown.

But looking good in that shirt and jeans combo!

I hadn't had to fight with our insurance in months! I thought we had reached some kind of detente. I forgot there is never such a thing.
But looking good in that shirt and jeans combo!
Thank you! I have a lot of difficulty with everything about my body and am trying actively not to get out of the habit of appearing in photographs.

What a fantastically pleasurable image to read! Well, by all means, wear it cautiously but well! Heh.

It was a nice thing to have happen this week!
(As always, I looked at the box set of silent von Sternberg, but even half-price it is exorbitant. I think I missed my chance to buy it in 2008 when it was part of the Alloy Orchestra's merch table at the Somerville. Fortunately, I have managed to rewatch Underworld (1927) since then.)

Thank you! The films reminded me of when we just used to wander around and pick up books for one another, which I still consider normal behavior.
