I dreamt I woke unburdened and I walked and I ran
I can't call what we are having a snow day, since it is cloudlessly bright and currently about 14 °F and with wind chill feels twenty degrees colder, but I am entertained that with the unerring instinct of The Twilight Zone I dreamed that instead of the promised arctic front we had been hit with a wave of global heat and everyone was melting like Dali paintings in February light. It was a mildly Ballardian experience; I seemed to be living in a high-rise festooned with abandoned mattresses and trash bags. I was incredibly reassured to wake and discover we really were in danger of our eyelashes snapping off. It still feels like cheating that we aren't having even a small blizzard.
P.S. I can take or leave the noonday sun, but even in sandblasting cold, not apparently a winter dusk.

Too bad we won't get snow. We're getting into dendrite flake temperatures.

Thank you! It does indeed feel like winter, sort of mega-mode. It's just weird that it's so dry.

I think it may have been anxious. I don't like warm winters.

That would have been cool!

I wish I could pack up three or four of our one- to two-inch snowfalls, occurring a few days apart, into one lovely picturesque day and just send them to you.
It's dryer here now, but the snowpack is quite substantial; every trip out of or back into the house involves climbing over snowdrifts. I'm glad of my ice cleats. I'd be so happy to share! But weather is not amenable to such desires.

It's a lovely idea! I would even accept some of the drifts you are currently mountaineering over. Visible grass in February is just wrong.

The sunflowers? I liked them. They spun with the wind.
