Christmas slewed up out of nowhere this year. Road salt isn't frost, but it glitters almost as whitely by the sides of the road. I chopped a great quantity of dates and apricots for a last-minute pudding and my father just sent me Ralph Richardson in a one-hour A Christmas Carol from 1965. Merry Erev Christmas.

TCM had a set of silent short Christmas movies last week. One of them was a twenty minute (ish) Christmas Carol. About as brief as one could get, I'd think.
