Friday, sit and stare

With all the talk of a nor'easter, I was counting on the weather to keep the contractors from arriving this morning, as they have done every day this week with the result that I have been ever more sleep-deprived and useless even for things I would like to be doing. It seemed quite plausible that I might actually sleep until my alarm for the first time since the weekend.

At a quarter to eight, they rang our doorbell. This feels like cheating.
