I shall be soundly amused if Stripey the Fourteenth turns out to be, say Stripey Viceroy, First of her Name. Then again, I don't know the host plants for viceroys as opposed to monarchs, so I may well be daydreaming silliness here.

I am afraid they breed on willow rather than milkweed, but she could still be a nonconformist. We should find out soon.

We have been seeing monarchs around our yard since they began to hatch, and I can't help but wonder if they are some of the same ones.
