Oh dear. I did a lot of black cat appreciation yesterday, and gave Ninja treats (Nuit is allergic and doesn't even want them any more, having stolen her brother's and ejected them immediately enough times to learn something). I'll have to go downstairs today and appreciate them formally. I expect to be snubbed -- they are fond of me, but I am not as good as Lydy or David -- because they can always tell when you have something in mind yourself rather than planning to acquiesce in what they decide. Ninja will come around, and Nuit may or may not. She is fonder of mugging me when I'm taking my clothes out of the dryer and having an Extreme Petting Emergency in a Siamese Voice all over the top of the dryer.
Autolycus looks remarkably boneless, I mean more than a cat ordinarily would.
Fortunately, cats can be appreciated in all seasons, even with a frequency of more than once a day.

Aw!
When I have my computer set up at a desk that Hestia can access, she often leaps up and demands petting when I am trying to do anything else, and when we had the cats briefly on the sun porch a few days ago so that spatch could shop-vac the summer kitchen, I was charmed and touched that when I sat down at my mother's computer, suddenly I found a Hestia beside me.
