For our first official federal Juneteenth, I ate a surprisingly nineteenth-century pie and Hestia mauled one of my best accessories. I think it went all right.

I would like to hear more about the pie.

It was a hand-raised pie filled with spiced lamb, potatoes, and chickpeas. My father called it a samosa pie. selkie estimates that he just barely did not reinvent a staple of the Hindoostane Coffee House in 1810.

It's from Alabaster DePlume's "Don't Forget You're Precious," from his most recent album GOLD (2022), which I discovered last week and have been listening to.
