P.S. I cannot promise that anyone should watch this space because I feel as though someone turned off the tap in my brain just about four weeks ago, but I just saw a trick of time in a movie which I have never seen on film before: I did, however, once dream of it. I had no idea it was part of a real movie. It wasn't even the only thing I loved about this one, but I never expected to see it outside my own head.

I have no idea about the dogs, but I bet you could find representation of the bars. As a culture, they were big into beer. Siduri who directs Gilgameš to the ferryman who crosses the waters of death to the country of the sun runs more or less literally the tavern at the end of the world.
