For posterity and myself, I wish to note that this morning I thought very distinctly that I couldn't remember, physically, what it felt like to be happy, and after a stressful and exhausted start to the day I spent a lovely afternoon and evening with rushthatspeaks including a walk in late warm sunlight, a cat with a sovereign insistence on being petted, and the first bowl of poke I have eaten since last summer, and things overall are still stressful and exhausting, but it turns out I have not forgotten and it's rather nice.

I am glad to hear it! (Also, I haven't had a poke bowl in awhile and am making a mental note to remedy this.)
