I stumbled on the life we left behind
Today has also been rough, but an unknown benefactor sent me a dark-blue-enameled eye-of-Horus pin. It is not the same as the one I lost last month, but it is deeply appreciated and already affixed apotropaically. I am sure I will need it.
I didn't realize that Sav-Mor Liquors was relocating from McGrath to Assembly Row until I passed their now former location this morning, their famous sign bearing one last message for the world.

I had in fact never heard of Janet Sobel. She would pair really well with Hilma af Klint.

I've been to MoMA! How did I miss her?
I love her Milky Way painting.
It's gorgeous. It looks deeply oceanic to me, all delicate spines and weeds and eddies. And Pollock's Galaxy does not show to great effect beside it.
I do like Pollock, but I have greater fondness for the women painters of that era (Lee Krasner, Nell Blaine, Jane Freilicher...and, apparently, Janet Sobel!).
I don't think I know any of the women you name. I will look them up.

Thank you!
(Surely??)
(Just statistically, one would think!)
