Don't let me fall asleep

Direct sunlight!

The silhouettes of winter sun.

Windows of sky, doors of brick.

I have never gotten a photo of the front of the Litchfield Block that truly satisfies me, but I keep trying. It might need to be painted by Edward Hopper or John Sloan.

A tree of sparrows.

I am no good without a little daily Precisionism.

My grandfather would have been a hundred and one today.

Oh, so glad you got out into the light! I love those photos.

We have a hedge of sparrows next door. Our neighbor did not know anything about gardening but wanted all things to be VERY TIDY, so he pruned the lilac hedge between his yard and the neighbors' on the other side. If you do this to lilac, it declines whilst buckthorn, volunteer elm, maple, hackberry, and peabush seedlings take over. But you also get an amazing tangle of ingrown branches that are lovely shelter for sparrows even when the hedge is leafless. They are very loud therein around sunset.
