After a shattering thunderclap this morning produced storms on and off for the rest of the day, I decided to give the rain hat a try when I left the house in the evening.

2. Carolyn Shoemaker has died, leaving comets in her memory. "We would all be very uncomfortable."

It is dedicated to the memory of Sister Jack Off All Trade Master of Nuns, whom everyone agrees was no saint. "Jarman wasn't a saint, either, that's the thing as well."

5. An announcement from Readercon: the next convention has been postponed until 2023.
Outside of the rain hat and combination dinner from Dakzen and Mortadella Head, just about every element of my day has been enervating beyond belief. Tomorrow I have to stop yet another set of my medications in preparation for yet another test. Forsan et haec olim, right.

2. “I never lost a comet before,” she said. “All my comets, I knew where they were." That's a very housekeeperly view of the heavens. I love it.

5. I am grieving. I know that the concom needs a break--they've worked flat out--but I've been dreaming of a future with a lobby full of friends.

I'm not sure I'd ever seen his sea before—Totes Meer (1931) only complicatedly counts. This one looks like dreams I've had.

I am grieving. I know that the concom needs a break--they've worked flat out--but I've been dreaming of a future with a lobby full of friends.
Don't grieve, if you can. I think you have a much better chance of that future in 2023 than in 2022.
