I translated that song to Swedish, and have sung it before thousands of people on May Day. : ) Later when I dug into the archives of the university library, I did find one previous translation from the 70's, but it didn't seem to have survived in popular tradition, and anyway I ended up happier with mine.

No, no! The reason I sang for so many people is that I am active in the union which organized the rally, not because I sing professionally. : )
