A-conjuring Summer in
Happy solstice! We made our offerings to the shortest night and the growing moon in its halo of heat-haze; there are fireflies in the yards here, little stars winking, falling. We carry this light the whole year through. May it be a year when we don't need to hold it quite so hard.

Fireflies are one of the truly best things about early summer.

It is a strange thing to have learned how to say. I am glad you are here to say it.
Fireflies are one of the truly best things about early summer.
They were pointed out to me the first night I was here! I associate them with open fields more than with suburban neighborhoods. They're lovely just to see floating on and off.

It is a blazingly summery day for it here, too.

Thank you! May it have been a very good second and a harbinger of more to come!

I've never seen a firefly, but one day. One day.

All kinds of light will find you.

I am so happy you saw fireflies. I'm hoping for them in the yard, which is completely overgrown in back, an atmosphere that in other years has produced quite a crop. But we've been having a drought, and I'm not sure how much they like that.

Amen.
I am so happy you saw fireflies.
Thank you! I hadn't expected them from this trip at all.
I'm hoping for them in the yard, which is completely overgrown in back, an atmosphere that in other years has produced quite a crop. But we've been having a drought, and I'm not sure how much they like that.
I hope yours return. I don't think most things like drought, except for whatever you don't want more of.

May they find you under the trees of Harvard Yard.
Wishing you joy at the sun's turning.
To you, too.
