As I recall, Robert Montgomery was not a good Peter Wimsey, to put it mildly.
I didn't realize you'd seen the film! Even among American actors of the time, Robert Montgomery would have been nowhere near the head of my list.
Leslie Howard would have been perfect.
I think I may die mad about this.
