My niece is feeling self-conscious about the glasses she has to wear for computer time, since thanks to remote learning computer time is now the majority of her days; they are not prescription but blue-light filters and she thinks they make her look ridiculous. They don't, of course, but more importantly I told her they were like welding goggles—eye protection—and she seems more reconciled to the idea. I wish she were old enough for me to show her the 2016 Ghostbusters. I feel Holtzmann would be encouraging.

I never remember any of my household lingo when asked for the purposes of meme, but in response to a question with no obvious answer, I just called reflexively, "Maybe she just snapped out!" Thanks, my grandparents and Shelley Berman.

Of the child suggestions I saw, my favorite was the one who suggested attaching a cable and having a million people pull on it. I liked the idea of that many people cooperating. Only a small fraction of the people that were thinking of the situation at any one time, though.

Please hit me up with such picture! She is willing to concede that I don't look ridiculous in glasses (I also wear them strictly for computer use), but she's been seeing me in them her entire life and I feel it could only help to see glasses-wearing people in contexts where they look actively cool.

Photo received! I shall show it to my niece. We spent a portion of this afternoon in the side yard with me teaching her pseudo-tennis (we have rackets and balls but no court and no net, moral: what we really need are shuttlecocks). She had never held a racket before and consistently sent the ball flying over into the neighbors' yard. I can't wait until we can put her and Child together. We will have finally invented the perpetual motion machine.
