As people seem to be posting the states of their Election Day:
spatch and I voted almost a month ago by drop-off ballot at the box outside our polling place. We had to hope then it would mean something and we have to hope now. I have not seen much of the news except to note that once again our governor cast his ballot with a blank where the president's name should be, which is useless. My mother sent me a pair of pictures from Pennsylvania, taken by family who had to wait for hours in their masks to vote: at first they called it a very long line and by the end they simply called it voter suppression. I am trying to write about a movie and
spatch is lying under a cat. The shape of the world changes all the time without me, but I have a lot of feelings about the current metamorphosis.
[edit] I went outside and looked at the copper-colored dot of Mars and the golden and ruddy ones of Saturn and Jupiter drawing closer. I suspect I should not even be trying to think about omens, but it was nice to see the planets moving in their patterns, whatever is occurring on this one.

. . . I have to correct this post, because I called my mother to double-check and discovered the photos were actually taken in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which is where the cousin is registered. (My aunt and uncle voted in St. Tammany Parish, where they live.) So that's some swing state fun.

Thank you. I am hoping and trying not to feel like I am ill-wishing everything by it.

I should probably go back to hiding in my corner now.

I hope you get stars where you are.

I was able to take a longish walk and connect with some water, so I'm OK for the nonce, and the world is moving in its patterns. This, I will remember. (For awhile at least, til I need reminded again.)

I am glad. (I think one always needs reminding.) I know Gordon Bok is astrophysically correct that the world is always turning toward the morning, but I want him to be metaphysically correct as well.

*hisses and spits* If he wins because Wisconsin and Pennsylvania suppressed voters...!

That is very much the sort of thing I worry about, especially since the Republicans said blatantly beforehand that they would do it, because a fair election would be one they couldn't win.

Thank you! I continue to feel they were good decisions.
