It takes two to tango, but I think you're dancing on your own
Good morning, and welcome to the hundred and first anniversary of President Woodrow Wilson's permanently incapacitating stroke. Isn't it amazing the hoaxes you can catch if you don't take precautions? The world being even weirder than it was the last time I looked in, I appreciate
ashlyme finding me the following image:

It's Steel's inexpressible origins.

I'll be happy to hand 45 a reviving pint of bleach, but there are a few million people ahead of me in this queue.

It did. Thank you.

Well, it might take a lot of bleach.
(I just want to be sure the VP doesn't miss out on his share. He sowed this whirlwind, too.)

Lying in bed
Just like Woodrow Wilson did
That is an EXCELLENT line by 'Spatch.

I don't know whether to call that kind of predictable, self-inflicted disaster "some Greek tragedy $#17", classic Viking morality tale, or slapstick comedy.
Steel's inexpressible origins
Jumping directly from steampunk to disco, via SF? Sounds about right.

I shall tell him! He was justifiably proud.

It's 2020, Jake.
(Personally I choose "classic Viking morality tale," just because you see so many fewer of those name-checked in pop culture.)

I really am charmed.

Be generous! There are other deserving souls in his administration!
(And it's a great picture)
Apparently it comes from an episode I've never seen of The Outer Limits. I am interested in tracking it down.

You're welcome.

I'm interested in the story when you find it!

You're welcome. I feel a little like this administration did its best to turn back history: well, look what comes out of the cracks.
Also, amazing photo!
It was a great morning present.

Pretty much everything about it makes me happy.

I know it's part of a story, but it's also a great image on its own.

My brother was almost named after him, until my father opined that "Sonya and Ilya" sounded like a Russian double-act. (He counter-suggested, I suspect not seriously, "Igor," and my brother was named after one of my mother's favorite literary characters instead.)

Also, while I've heard of Sapphire and Steel and sort of generally know what it's about, I was today years old when I learned that David McCallum was in it.

LOL!! It really has to be.

I am delighted you agree.

It is truly impressive. For once I appreciate 2020's total disinterest in subtlety.

He's excellent in it! I only ever wrote up half the show, but it stayed just as weird and gripping all the way through its untimely cancellation that wound up serving as an ironically apropos finale. If you are so minded, all six serials are on YouTube.
