In other nice things of the new year, thisbluespirit has made Elemental fanart for Peter Cushing as Palladium based on my waistcoat-inspired fancasting of him! He joins the company of Curium and Fermium from my "Assignment 96" and the rest of thisbluespirit's long-running and gorgeous series of original and other Elements. (I am especially fond of Jet, Copper, Mercury, Iron, Antimony, Bronze, Radium, Plutonium, Zinc, Aluminium, Arsenic, and Carbon.) More people should write for them, probably including me.

The elements are AMAZING. I take it they are an expansion of Sapphire nd Steel?

They are! Some are Elements who are named but never appear onscreen in the original series, at least one of them comes from radio canon, and the rest as I understand them are extrapolated from the periodic table and suitable actors into the Sapphire & Steel-verse. I love the visual style and the casting choices and am really honored that thisbluespirit made me this one, which was a request not just for a particular Element but a specific actor (but seriously, look at Peter Cushing in that waistcoat clip and tell me I'm wrong).

I wonder if they could be a Yuletide fandom all on their own....

They should at least be able to inspire an exchange or something.

I have quite specifically asked for original elements many a time, not officially in Yuletide (though unofficially, totally) but specifically in other exchanges. XD (I'm sure you're shocked.)

Mostly, I get a lot of Silver and Silver/Sapphire/Steel instead, but I am very much not complaining about that! I have received some really lovely S&S stuff.
