Let me take you round the ocean
This afternoon I received a wonderful little package from
yhlee: an assortment of polyhedral dice with waterlines of opalescent glitter and tiny starfish embedded in their transparent plastic. They definitely look like they should be used for gambling with maritime deities, which may be my new plan for financial survival now that the ruling party of our government has committed itself to hanging its citizens out to die rather than continuing to provide unemployment benefits that are not actually the reason we haven't seen a mass return to work.
spatch hasn't returned to work because even if we were to decide to shoot craps with our new dice and my survival, his place of work has not reopened for business and is not any likely to any time soon, especially with the city's indefinite and sensible postponement of further reopenings. (Chiming in from the other room: "I'd also say because the theater's smart!") I am still working my pay-cut job which state unemployment refuses to recognize as worthy of compensation. Maybe Ægir is ironically bad at Crown and Anchor.

The dice sound amazing, though.

Aaaaaaugh. The eternal tension between the affordable and the survivable. Maybe if we triple-kill them it will restore the economic fertility of the land.
The dice sound amazing, though.
I'll try to take a photo tomorrow when there's sunlight again. They are excellently shimmery.
[edit] Shimmer and starfish!

I like how they refract.

They're really attractive! I don't play any games that require them, so I don't tend to have dice around the huse, but there's no reason they can't be art objects as well as random number generators.

Aw! Thank you so much. (Please do not set your life any more on fire than it is already, especially not in pursuit of anything water-themed.)

Plus the first time I rolled the D20 I got an 18, so I'm taking that as a good omen.
