Of thinking I can't love anyone even if it's the Devil himself

On the one hand, I had to spend a portion of my afternoon inside a hospital—it was a scheduled appointment rather than a surprise, but nerve-racking all the same.

On the other, I found this hat.

Birds. I love the colors.

They were painted by a local artist from Hawaii, I want to say Maui. My family took a vacation there in 1997. The birds were the major art my parents came back with. (I came back with books.)
