There's still snow on the ground here, and a few lilacs on south-facing sidewalks were just attempting red leaf tips when the snowstorm came.

They'll be fine, being accustomed to such japes by the weather, but it will be a while before we have any flowering anything.
I've just been informed we're supposed to have snow at the end of this week, which I suppose is in keeping with New England's wait-five-minutes weather ethos, but I still don't want it to wipe out all the flowers! At this point I think they are kind of like my emotional support spring.
